The Lagos State Drivers’ Institute (LASDRI) has conducted a one-day Structured Training/Recertification exercise for 17 convoy drivers attached to Office of the First Lady (OFL) of Lagos State.

The training was part of a three-day Residential Training for the Staff of the Office of the First Lady, Mrs. Claudiana Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, with the theme "Leadership, Team Building, Management Skills and Security for Enhancing Performance in a Fast-Paced Workplace".

Welcoming the participants to the training exercise, the General Manager of the Lagos State Drivers’ Institute (LASDRI), Mrs. Afusat Tiamiyu, intimated the participants about the mandate of the Drivers’ Institute and advised them to be attentive and open-minded in order to assimilate all that they will be taught at the Institute.

She informed the participants about the series of lectures that would be offered such as Convoy Driving, Defensive and Evasive Driving/Convoy Movement for Lagos State Government House Security Details, Road Signs and Pavement Markings Made Easy, Intersection and Space Cushion, among others, stressing that they would also acquire necessary knowledge that will enhance their driving skills and conduct on the road, as well as how to properly maintain the vehicles in their possession.

The General Manager appreciated the Lagos State Government, through the Office of the First Lady, for the honour conferred on the Institute and promised the participants that the training will improve their self-confidence behind the wheels.

Tiamiyu also encouraged the drivers to tap from the wealth of experience of the seasoned trainers, who would be exposing them to the conducts expected of professional drivers, just as she craved for adequate cooperation between the drivers and the trainers.

In her remarks, the Director Training, Mrs. Adeola Ajayi, advised the participants to be good ambassadors of the Institute and ensure all they have learnt at the Lagos State Drivers' Institute would be put to good use in the discharge of their duties, especially while driving.
