LASDRI trains more commercial drivers
In continuation of its determination to train and improve driving techniques of all categories of drivers, especially those in the commercial sector, Lagos State Drivers’ Institute has conducted on-site training for members of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) Opebi/Onigbongbo Branch C.
Addressing participants before the commencement of the training exercise at the Danfo Garage, Ojota, the Acting General Manager, Mrs. Afusat Tiamiyu, said the training exercise is expected to improve the drivers' skills, inform them about road traffic rules and regulations as well as educate them on the proper use of the highways, among other benefits.
She reminded participants to consider other road users at all times, take proper care of their vehicles and also ensure being always in the right frame of mind before embarking on any journey.
Tiamiyu reiterated that the on-site training was organised with the aim of improving the attitude of the commercial drivers, through regular training and re-certification, stressing that the annual exercise is compulsory for the drivers to receive a certificate of competence.
At the end of the training exercise, 30 commercial drivers were captured on the institute data bank and re-certified.
